Career history at Hilti
After I graduated from university in 1993, I joined a state-owned company as technician, on average it took only two hours to finish the daily job, the rest of the time was awful boring. In 1994, I made the decision to join Hilti because I believed that this company would enrich my international working experienc and I would get the chance to learn advanced manufacturing technologies. All this has become true and I have spent very exciting 23 years with Hilti.
I have enjoyed working with colleagues from all over the world from Germany to America and even Mexico. In the early 1990s, when most of my classmates were dealing with traditional machines and technologies, I got my first lesson about industrial automation; in 1995, I got the chance to operate a 5-axis CNC milling machine which was forbidden to be sold to China; from 1996, and I got to be involved in many technologies I never had even dreamt of before.
I had continousl trainings on culture, leadership and functional expertise over the years and this was a big help for me to develop my competencies and enable me to take bigger responsibilities and challenges step by step.
Since 2011, I took the responsibility over the technical service department where I had the chance to lead the innovation topics and develop the technologies strategy and road-map for the future years. With the implementation of various technologies, we have managed to turn the plant from a pure fulfilment plant to an innovation partner. This makes me surely proud. My biggest challenge is to develop my team members and get them ready for “teach back” to our European colleagues.
