Profile summary
I started with Hilti as an Engineering Intern while completing my bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. At the time, I just knew I needed an internship, but I found it to be fun and challenging with new experiences all the time. After graduation, I accepted a full-time role as a Technical Support Engineer, finding a career I didn’t know was possible alongside people who have become more than just colleagues. The people were the reason I came to work here, and they’re the reason I stay. Since starting with Hilti, I’ve been in six different roles across five major cities. I’ve traveled to multiple parts of the world. I’ve been able to create new departments, form new teams and develop myself along the way. From taking on a new sales division to leading the creation of the Project Management Office, my career continues to grow and challenges me every step of the way. Throughout my career, Hilti’s unique culture has made it a truly special place to work. It’s a place I love calling home. Hilti isn’t a job you work to get experience and move on. I came here to build a career that would let me develop, explore, learn, fail and learn again. I’ve stayed because I can’t imagine working anywhere else. Now, I lead a sales division in the Midwest. I took it on as a new division, bringing together teammates from across the heartland of the United States, all combining grit and determination to achieve outstanding results. I wake up every day excited, eager and prepared to conquer my goals with a great group of teammates by my side. Success breeds success, and there’s nothing stopping us.

While at university, I did an internship with Hilti to complement my otherwise technical studies. I soon found that translating customers’ needs into engineering was something I really liked. Today I’m still excited about Hilti’s technical expertise, premium products and brand strength – strong as a tribal sign.
Hilti has always given me the freedom to be creative, along with enough support to feel safe and secure. In my current role, I still create things, but I’m the one helping others with their first steps and insecurities. This excites me now.
At Hilti, we don’t do marketing for marketing’s sake, but to move the organization on and create results. It’s about innovating, evolving, revolutionizing. This is all encouraged with a view to developing both yourself and the company.
Hilti is a people-oriented performance culture, with a shared keenness to learn quickly and belong to the best. Career development is structured and ongoing. It’s a case of keeping an open dialogue. For me, the biggest challenge, success and fun has been moving around the world with Hilti and a growing family of my own. Do it if you can.

Profile summary
I joined Hilti eight years ago, looking for a company with a strong corporate culture, fantastic brand and strategy for growth.
I spent my first role in brand management, looking after events, trade fairs and guest relations, and responsible for a team of seven.
Two and a half years later, I was approached with the opportunity to move to the UK. Would I help them set up a brand and communications department for the whole of northern Europe? Yes, I would!
After that, I faced my biggest challenge yet: moving into sales without any sales experience!
I was still based in the UK - so working in a non-native country as a woman in a ‘man’s world’ and with little product knowledge. I was daunted to say the least. But, once over a tremendous learning curve, it turned out to be the best decision of my career. It gave me a much better understanding of our business model, in terms of both our customers and our corporate strategy.
As an area sales manager back in Germany, I got an even deeper understanding of these things. I’m now responsible for our sales division in Bavaria, looking after nine area sales managers, 85 account managers and $56m in sales.

I joined Hilti as an intern on the Unitech International program, while writing my master’s thesis on pricing analysis. After graduation, I was offered a position as global product manager, where I managed a portfolio of screw fastening products and launched new ones in key markets. I got to travel the world visiting customers and finding out what they needed. I can proudly say that I contributed to changing the US screw market from single to collated screws, making our customers more productive and safe. I also got to learn German!
A couple of years later, I moved to head office in Manchester to manage our flagship direct fastening tools. While there, I got to launch one of our most iconic products of the past decade, the BX3 battery nailer. It was quite a game changer for me, as the launch significantly boosted the region’s sales growth, while giving me lots of exposure to senior management. In the process, I had to demonstrate strategic thinking, agile learning and the ability to manage complex stakeholder situations. All important elements for professional development at Hilti.
The project opened doors to a new challenge for me, and I now lead a team of highly talented product managers in driving the technical marketing content for our specifier and engineering communities. This is a newly created team, so it gives me the opportunity to develop new competencies in areas such as crafting direction and developing others. Again, all important aspects of leadership at Hilti.
Next steps on my journey with Hilti have recently been Head of Product Management in E1HUB and at the moment I started my transition into Head of Marketing for BU Software. New challenges, great opportunities, as usual with Hilti. Wish me luck!
