Hilti Outperformer gives me the perfect combination of technical and management tasks. In my first year and a half, I’ve worked in a technical development role, where I feel I’ve really been able to contribute to the project, while of course learning loads. As an engineering graduate, this has been my comfort zone, if you like. After a very helpful discussion with my mentor I moved into a marketing role for my second assignment in the program. Next I’ll move into a management role, which might be supply chain or project management, something I’ll discuss with my mentor very soon.
Hilti’s HR team were really helpful with my move here. I didn’t have time to visit beforehand or to look for accommodation. So I told them I was concerned about settling in and that I wanted to live in a shared apartment, and they put me in touch with all the right people. Even if you don’t find a place to live before joining Hilti, they’ll put you up in a hotel for a month, so you’re always well looked after.

My move into Hilti was certainly unique… I was approached when I was at university, and initially I couldn’t see where I’d fit within this huge, global construction company. They could see something in me that I couldn’t, and have led me to discover all the possible paths available to me.
When I joined, people kept telling me that you can do whatever you want in Hilti, and that became very true of my experience. Hilti is this huge, vast sea of opportunity but regardless of wherever it takes you, it feels like a tight knit family. It’s something I genuinely believe you can’t find anywhere else. Soon after joining, I realised that these people are my people. It didn’t take long. I love feeling part of this global community of high achievers. The sky is the limit and you can reach out to anyone for any sort of help, whether it’s personal or professional; they’ve always been there for me and I take real comfort in that.
I’m very passionate about what I do and bringing people up and together. That’s the great thing about what we do: the tangibility of our products means we can see the results and progress for ourselves. Plus, the impact we have in building a better future for the world is really cool. For example, we leave behind an anchor that is going to hold a beam and a column together and is going to sustain and last. It’s a physical product for other people to enjoy that keeps them safe.
Beyond my role, I feel extremely passionate about giving back and supporting underprivileged communities. One part of this that I love is introducing young girls to engineering and showing them the career possibilities available to them in the future here. Seeing their eyes light up as they hear about the solutions we create is really inspiring. These unique opportunities within Hilti, but outside of my role, unite my personal interests and my ambitions to create a better future.

I joined Hilti in 2016 while still in high school. I initially did not meet the educational requirements for the role as a student worker in marketing, but my perseverance, hunger and ambition granted me the job. Exactly 1 year later, I was asked to take over a fulltime role as responsible for all marketing activities in Denmark. This meant crafting a direction within marketing for a company which is part of a global organization of over 30,000 employees across more than 120 countries. 1 year and 1 month later, I was offered to join the digital team in the regional headquarters in the UK. Achieving this role at the age of 22, I became responsible for developing and directing industry-leading digital strategies whilst leading 5 teams of digital specialists across 5 countries and 24 social media pages.
I began my journey at Hilti in the most junior role existent in the organization, moved to a different country and achieved a strategic team leader position within 2,5 years, before turning 23. All of this, whilst studying for my degree in International Business.
What still motivates me today is the opportunities to grow. What I learn at Hilti is invaluable for my career and personal development, and my rapid growth is thanks to the opportunities and support that Hilti grants me.

There are not many companies that take both career wishes and an understanding of private circumstances into account and do everything possible to make employees feel comfortable so that they can give their best every day.
After only two years of working experience as a sales consultant, Hilti encouraged me to take the step to become a manager at the age of 27. The year as sales manager was very instructive and an unforgettable time, but for private reasons I had to voluntarily take the step back to sales consultant. Hilti supported me in this decision and did everything she could to ensure that I would not leave the company.
I also love working with customers, evolving strategic topics and making sure the team is bringing in good results for them. It makes my job very special.
The Hilti spirit is unique. Our culture is not only written on paper - teamwork, integrity, courage and commitment – but it’s truly lived every day, wherever you go in Hilti.

What really attracted me to Hilti was the scope – in every sense. Our international reach. Our breadth of products and services. The variety of projects we work on.
I’ve been with Hilti for two years now, and my job is all about puzzle solving. Every day poses a new challenge, as customers come to us as their go-to solution provider. They’ve got a problem? They come straight to a Hilti engineer to solve it.
At Hilti, we place a huge emphasis on research and development. We want to be top of the market with our products, so we invest in R&D to keep ahead of the game. That’s another exciting thing about working for Hilti. You know you’re offering your customers the most innovative solutions out there. It makes the conversation very easy.

I joined Hilti in Mexico inside the Engineering Department and later moved into the product side of marketing. I next took a more strategic role and, after a while, became strategic marketing manager, still in Mexico. I’m now back in product management, working on direct fastening products in Headquarters and handling projects in a global scope. So it’s sort of familiar ground, but on a worldwide scale. Being in Schaan was an incredible experience as I got to know how global projects work and met amazing colleagues. Now I’m based in US and still working as a Product manager (living the true spirit of a global team). It’s great to be able to run the projects I was taking care of in Schaan while being really close to our customers.
Hilti always show a genuine interest in getting to know you, which I think is so important for a business. After all, a business is made up of people. It also means it’s not just work, work, work. They understand you have a personal life too. The leaders are all good at making that personal connection while supporting you on achieving results and personal development.

During my studies I worked for several years in the global marketing team of a renowned and internationally operating medical technology company. During this time I noticed that the views of the marketing and sales team differed on certain issues, although the same sales strategy was shared. In order to understand why these conflicting views exist, I decided to apply for a sales position myself. My goal was to better understand the mindset of the customers and to experience sales myself.
Because of its strong brand and premium products and its focus on direct sales, Hilti was a preferred employer for me. The good development programme for young people was another decisive point that confirmed my decision to work for Hilti.
I started as an Territory Sales Manager at Hilti in 2014 and found it very exciting to become part of the company's philosophy, learn about different sales strategies and get to know our products. In a traditionally male world, I was initially faced with the challenge of convincing my customers of my expertise and building trust. But this only motivated me even more, so it didn't take long before my customers listened to my recommendations and built a professional partnership.
While the sales department is a very good start at Hilti in order to get to know the basis - i.e. our customers and products - it was clear to me that I should go further. With marketing training in the background, I therefore moved to Cologne two years later to become part of the marketing team as a solution consultant for our asset management software ON!Track. This had the advantage of applying my marketing experience and still being able to work closely with our customers. During this time, I realised that I enjoyed training our customers on the software, so I wanted to develop further in this area. This was followed by a move to Technical Trainer, where I have since trained and certified our customers in the areas of fire protection, post-installed rebar connection and health and safety at work.
Hilti is such a great employer for me because teamwork is very important and you get support at all times. Your own wishes and goals are taken into account and taken seriously when it comes to development opportunities, which is why you are always highly motivated to give your best and to be able to give back some of that trust.

My journey with Hilti Emirates started in January 2018 as business developer in the power segment after 6 years work experience in the Middle East. As the only Chinese national working at Hilti Emirates at that time, the task of building a relationship and even the name of Hilti in my customers’ mind were built from the ground. Therefore, I was facing many challenges. However, I my line managers and colleagues took care of. I was also being trained systematically on product know-how, company structure and culture all at the same time. I felt I was fully equipped before I started in the field, dealing with our customers. As a result, my power project has been fully developed after one year of hard work and reached an amazing turnover of over 2 million AED.
Since then, my responsibility has expanded to the whole Gulf sub-region covering 14 projects in four countries. Chinese customers are becoming increasingly engaged with Hilti and benefiting from our great value proposition.
I enjoy working with such a professional and supportive team, my abilities and experience have been strengthened as well. I truly believe that my Hilti career will continue to grow!
